Coming May 2 - 12, 2019
Approximate Running Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
The Players will close this anniversary season with an open-casting production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the Scottish throne for himself. He is then wracked with guilt and paranoia. Known by the superstitious as “The Scottish Play” this classic play dramatizes the damaging physical and psychological effects of political ambition on those who seek power for its own sake.
This production of MacBeth is holding open auditions for all characters; meaning we are casting the right person for the role, regardless of age, race, gender, etc. Please come prepared to read for any part you like. Note that the genders in the character list are from the traditional description. They are to be looked at as a guide only. There will be double casting of roles, so if you accept a part, you will likely be cast in more than one role.
Auditions will be held on February 11 and 13 at 6:30pm.
PLEASE NOTE, AUDITIONS FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12 HAVE BEEN CANCELED AND MOVED TO WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 13.
