Winter 2012: Our Evening with Durang
Directed by Bob Fishel and Adam Cunningham; co-produced by Kris Johnson and Cindy MacKechnie.
Showcases some of Christopher Durang’s one act parodies that hold a mirror up to the work of “theater”. Beginning with Medea, a sketch co-authored by Durang and Wendy Wasserstein, Medea and her chorus of three women try to figure out if it's appropriate to kill your children to punish your husband. Jason shows up; so does a messenger with news of Lady Teazle; and a Deus ex Machina comes down from the sky to cheer everybody up. Next we go to Desire, Desire, Desire, a parody of Tennessee Williams's A Streetcar Named Desire.
The last scene of the first act is The Book of Leviticus Show, a send up of today's more contemporary theatre: television for the people; Lettie Lu is broadcasting her own public TV access show from a local motel. Based on Lettie Lu's belief in the Book of Leviticus, the show's interpretation of the story leads Lettie Lu to today's segment's activities of capturing and putting to death a homosexual and an adulteress. All in a day's devotion to God.
The second act is one scene, The Actor's Nightmare. This hilarious spoof details the plight of a stranger who suddenly pushed on stage to replace an ailing actor.

Spring 2012: Getting Sara Married
Sara Hastings is an unmarried lawyer in her mid-thirties, much too busy to get involved in any romance. Her Aunt Martha has decided to take matters into her own hands and find her a husband. Unfortunately, Aunt Martha’s method of doing it amounts to having the prospective groom bopped over the head and brought to Sara’s apartment. Aunt Martha’s choice is Brandon Cates, a young man who handles her finances. Although Brandon is already engaged to be married, this does not deter Aunt Martha. After being bopped on the head a few times, the ensuing loss of memory, confrontations with an angry fiance and several incidents of mouth to mouth resuscitation guarantee an evening of hilarious misadventure and mistaken identities.
Getting Sara Married runs for two weekends, April 26th through May 6th. Auditions are March 5-6. Click here for more information!
