Audition information for our spring 2012 production, Getting Sara Married, a light-hearted comedy by Sam Bobrick.

WHEN: Monday and Tuesday, March 5th & 6th 7PM
Call backs if needed Thursday, March 8th 6:30PM
WHERE: Memorial Hall in Essex, VT
WHO: 3 men, 3 women

SHOW DATES:
Thursday, April 26th through Saturday, April 28th, and May 3rd through May 5th at 8pm.
Sunday, April 29th and May 6th at 2pm.

DESCRIPTION OF CHARACTERS:

  • Sara Hastings: An unmarried woman in her mid-thirties, NY lawyer dedicated to her work.
  • Aunt Martha: Sara’s unpredictable aunt in her mid-sixties, wealthy, eccentric, fun.
  • Noogie Malloy: A very special delivery man in his late forties, not the brightest bulb in the box.
  • Brandon Cates: A potential husband that Aunt Martha has picked out for Sara in his mid-thirties, a quiet accountant.
  • Heather Boyd: Brandon’s fiancée. In her mid-twenties, is sedate, orderly, but suspicious.
  • The Chiropractor: In his mid-thirties. This is a non-speaking part. He is Martha’s second choice for Sara.

Volunteer

Essex Community Players loves its volunteers! In addition to the actors and directors, ECP relies on volunteers for everything from set construction to lighting to costumes to ushering and ticket sales. Volunteering is a lot of fun and a great way to see what goes into a show get to know some great new people!

Call for Show Proposals!

Is there a show you are just dying for the Essex Community Players to perform? Then bring it on! The ECP Board is calling for show suggestions. Musicals, comedies, dramas, original works - whatever tickles your fancy! This is also a call for any experienced or aspiring directors to join ECP in its 2012-2013 season. So don't just suggest - DIRECT!

ECP enjoys being a part of the Essex community and wants to perform shows that you want to see. Potential directors are invited to review the Memorial Hall's floor and lighting bar plans (.pdf) prior to submitting their proposal.
