Essex Community Players is an incorporated, non-profit company managed by a Board of Directors. We are an all-volunteer organization; donating our time and energies to further the performing arts in our community. There are many volunteer opportunities within our organization, both on and off the stage. Volunteering gives you the opportunity to experience the many exciting aspects of live theater, including acting, set construction, ticketing, promotions, make up, directing, producing, costuming and much more. Plus, by donating as little as 10 hours a year, you become a member of one of the oldest, most established community theatre organizations in the State as well as a valued part of the ECP family. Board of Directors Our Board of Directors holds monthly meetings to conduct the business of the company. All ECP members are welcome to attend. Most of the operations of ECP are handled by the Board of Directors, thus freeing our actors and crew to create fine productions.
Annual Meeting & Elections We hold an Annual Meeting in June to which all members are invited to attend. It’s the perfect opportunity for all of us to review the events of the past year, elect new Board members for the coming year, and have a say in the direction the organization will take. Anyone wishing to vote must have completed Membership Requirements before the start of the Annual Meeting.
